Ring type joint flanges (RTJ flanges) are special flange types designed for high pressure, high temperature, and strict leakage prevention applications. Their sealing surface features precision-machined annular grooves that work with metal ring gaskets, achieving reliable sealing through initial line contact and pressure self-energizing action. Working Principle:
The sealing principle of RTJ flanges is based on initial line contact of the metal ring gasket and pressure self-energizing effect. When bolts are pre-tensioned, the metal ring gasket forms initial line contact with the flange grooves; when media pressure enters the inner side of the ring, it creates an outward expanding force, making the contact between ring and grooves tighter, achieving the effect of tighter seal with higher pressure.
