Bolting is frequently the weakest link in a nickel alloy piping system: a carbon steel or 316L bolt in an Inconel 625 flange joint will gall, seize or stress-corrode long before the piping itself fails. Tailan Metal supplies nickel alloy bolting to ASME SA-193 and SA-453 in standard and heavy hex patterns, with matching nuts and washers from the same heat.

Product range

Hex head bolts and studs, heavy hex structural bolts, hex nuts and heavy hex nuts, plain and lock washers, and threaded rod. Diameters M8 to M100 (1/4 in. to 4 in.); lengths to order. Hot-rolled or cold-drawn finish; solution-treated where the grade requires it. Machining, thread rolling and cut-to-length can be supplied.

Material specification – ASME SA-193

SA-193 covers alloy and stainless steel bolting for high-temperature or high-pressure service. For austenitic grades including B8 and B8M the specification requires carbide solution treatment, with defined classes controlling mechanical properties by diameter. The austenitic grades show a tensile strength minimum of 75 ksi in the solution-treated condition per the SA-193 mechanical requirements table. Specific classes, diameter ranges and Class 1A / 1D / 2 properties must be confirmed against the current table at order placement.

A286 is covered by SA-453 for high-temperature bolting and by SA-564 for bar and shape product. A286-specific property values should be confirmed with our technical department against the applicable table before order placement.

Applications

ASME B16.5 and B16.47 flange joints in sour gas service, oil and gas wellhead bolting, high-temperature furnace and heat-exchanger assembly, chemical process flanges, and marine seawater systems where Monel 400 is specified.

Certification and inspection

EN 10204 3.1 / 3.2 certification, hardness and tensile testing, PMI to confirm the alloy is not a substituted 316 or plated carbon steel, and NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156 compliance with hardness and environmental limits stated on the certificate when ordered. Full traceability by heat number, with head marking available.

Ordering information

Specify material grade, diameter, length, thread type (B7-style full or B8-style with declared class), quantity, coating requirement and whether NACE certification is needed. We will confirm grade availability, minimum order quantity and lead time. For large or non-standard diameters, send the flange specification so we can match the bolt to the joint.
